Privacy policy

This explains what joiniq collects when you join a queue, use a joiniq stamp card or sign in to a shop dashboard, why, and your rights. joiniq is run by LJ Operating Systems Ltd ("we").

Shops with several branches

Some businesses run several branches on joiniq's Group plan. There, the business holds one record of you: your stamp card works in every branch, your choices about offers apply to all of them, and "Forget me" removes you from all of them. Staff see your record only at branches you have used.

Who is responsible

When you join a shop's queue or use its stamp card, the shop decides how your details are used for its business and is the controller; we process them for the shop as its processor. For your joiniq profile (the one login and wallet pass you can use across joiniq shops) and for running and securing the service, we are the controller.

Our lawful bases

Running the queue and your stamp card: to provide the service you asked for. Analytics on scans and links: our and the shop's legitimate interests in running and improving the service, with the statistical-purpose exemption under the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025. Offers, reminders and personalised ads: your consent, given when you tap Join the queue and accept the terms, which you can withdraw at any time by replying STOP, using your profile page, or emailing us.

Advertising

If you have agreed to personalised ads, the shop may use your phone number or email, scrambled (hashed) before it leaves joiniq, to show you its ads on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) or Google, or to find people similar to its customers. Meta and Google cannot read the scrambled list.

Who we share it with

The shop you visited. Our service providers, under contract: Twilio and Meta (WhatsApp messages), Supabase (database, hosted in London), Vercel (website hosting), Brevo (emails the shop sends, if you agreed to email), Apple and Google (wallet passes and sign-in), Stripe (shop payments), and Meta and Google ads when you have agreed to personalised ads. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

For as long as you are a customer of the shop, and up to 24 months after your last visit, then we delete it or make it anonymous. Consent records are kept for as long as we need to prove consent.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete or move your data, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Reply STOP to end offers, use "Forget me" on your profile page, or email hello@joiniq.app. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Some providers process data outside the UK (for example in the US). Where they do, we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement.
